Introductory class for all students that seek to learn any instrument. From this class, students will be able to articulate what music is and will learn basic music notation, the ABCs of music. The ABCs must be learned before attempting to read musical phrases. This class is a prerequisite to starting with an instrument.

The Metodo de Solfeo by Hilario Eslava has been used for generations of musicians and will be used for this course. The class will be bilingual (English/Spanish), nonetheless, music is universal.

Solfeo, or Solfege, or Solfeggio, or many other names, is the art of measuring time and tuning pitch, giving each musical note its unique name. Prerequisite for this course is Solfeo Introduction. This class will build on lessons learned in Solfeo Introduction. It is recommended for all musicians and a must for ones seeking to sing.

After completing Solfeo Introduction, students are ready to start learning a musical instrument. This class is for students playing an instrument for the first time. The goal will be for the student to perform in a recital one year after starting with the instrument.

With band experience and after completing Solfeo Introduction, students are ready to start classes in a band environment. Solfeo was critical for all students to speak the same musical language. The goal will be for students to perform one year after starting this class. Following are prerequisites for the class:
